ICONS. American Minimal Music / REICH & GLASS

In concert Reich and Glass, Triple CD ICONS. American Minimal Music

BL!NDMAN provides a sample of the unique timbres that the specific distribution can realize autonomously and together: saxophone quartet, string quartet, percussion quartet and electronics.

The early minimal repertoire was material for many choreographers, such as A.T. De Keersmaeker and Wim Vandekeybus with whom Eric Sleichim, BL!NDMAN’s artistic director, had his first collaborations. The material included here is highly representative of the various techniques used by the icons of this movement.

The repertoire brings a wider audience that finds it hard to connect to contemporary classical music, to a different oeuvre than the traditional works of “classical music”. BL!NDMAN also finds a link here with its dĂ©marche to the renewal of “old music”; minimal music is inspired by the oldest polyphony techniques.

The choice for relatively well-known and especially less well-known works of the three icons of repetitive music gives a right to exist. The recording of a triple CD immediately aroused the interest of major record label Warner Classics. Release Autumn 2021.
