Workers Union
At the invitation of Bozar, BL!NDMAN performs Workers Union by Louis Andriessen in a double bill with saxophonist Colin Stetson in the magnificent Henry Le Boeuf Hall.
Andriessen, who belonged to a left-wing generation protesting against the prevailing politics and bourgeois culture of the time, wrote this composition in 1975 as a means of expressing solidarity and political struggle. To this day, performances of the work remain a musical sign of solidarity in turbulent geopolitical times.
Workers Union, composed for any combination of loud-sounding instruments, connects political practice with political idealism. An unlimited number of players perform the same material: everyone equal, strength in unity. The performers themselves determine the pitch in a bouncing succession of exhilarating rhythms.

For this performance at Bozar, BL!NDMAN has been given carte blanche regarding the instrumentation. So why not saxophones?
Following this concert, saxophone legend Colin Stetson takes centre stage for a solo set.
